Apparently there are no addicts in Dunmore and there are no homeless in Sugar Notch.
Anyway, when I think about both stories I'm reminded of what I learned in high school religion class (yes, I actually paid attention), specifically from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 25, verse 40:
"...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "

Some numbnuts code enforcement calls temporary shelter a group residence. No one will be using the church as a permament address.
What does he thinks happens during a natural disaster? Do we need permits to provide temporary housing? The windchill factor has it a minus below. I would still host the homeless and let the code enforcement take me to court. Let's see a judge side with him. What a moron. Fine them, they ought to discipline him.
I heard on WILK someone brought up the issue of fire alarms, smoke detectors, etc. The church has already met code otherwise it would not be a place of worship.

McGruff...I have a tough time believing some folks. It's almost surreal when you think about it: people DIE in these weather conditions...die as in a life extinguished forever...but yet you have officials looking for excuses to keep the shelter from opening. It's as if some folks believe that the life of a homeless person somehow of a lessor value. I wonder how many of these homeless are veterans...people who put their lives on the line for people like you, me, and even Mr Alber?
Everyone in Sugar Notch should be ashamed of this...that's if they are capable of feeling shame.
